Barry Myburgh is the MD and Principal Consultant of Insyte Information Systems Engineering (Pty) Ltd, an organisation which focuses on fostering best practice within the IT Industry, from the earliest stages of IT architecture and strategy development to delivery of value-adding solutions, and throughout the operations, support and maintenance of implemented systems. After a brief period of employment in the Mining and Telecommunications industries, Barry entered the Computer industry in 1974 as a Software Engineer. Software Engineering remained his primary focus for a number of years, and he later took on the roles of Senior System Designer and Project Manager. His area of responsibility also extended to the establishment and operation of some first class facilities including an in-company education and training facility for the Computer Technology Institute and a software configuration management facility. By 1988 Barry’s scope had broadened to Information Systems Engineering and this has remained the focus of his consulting and training activities. In addition to lecturing at FTI, Barry is also a part-time lecturer at the University of the Witwatersrand
