Team: Our company, tinyTECHIES, consists of five undergraduates from the Faculty of Information Technology of the University of Moratuwa. Additionally, business experts from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) also serve as our advisers. Therefore, we believe we have all the skills necessary to build and deliver our product to the market and make it a great success.
"AroundU" is an innovative mobile application that brings local maps to any MMS-capable phone. Users can request the type of service they are seeking (e.g., ATMs, fuel stations, supermarket, etc.) and AroundU will send back an MMS containing a map marking both the user's location and that of the nearby services. Mapping is already considered a "killer app" for the smartphone segment. By bringing this functionality to a much broader population, AroundU has the potential to create immense value.
