Michael graduated from New York's prestigious Stuyvesant High School and subsequently obtained a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. After five years in finance, Michael left Wall Street to pursue his passion for international development, spending six months on the ground in Juba, Sudan after having done short-term aid work in Uganda, Rwanda, Kenya, and Sudan. Michael is now a Ph.D. Candidate in Computer Science at New York University with a research focus in technology for development including security concerns and delivery of microfinance, healthcare, and educational services.
